One of the absolute highlights of this week was spending time with some truly impressive Pages here in Annapolis!

I had the pleasure of meeting Noah from Charles County North Point High School, along with Myles from Weis High School in District 23, Mya from Perry Hall High School in District 8, and Mirna from Bishop Walsh School in District 1. These students are curious, thoughtful, and already deeply engaged in learning how government really works.

They didn’t just observe — they connected. The Pages had the opportunity to meet with Yvonne from the Office of the Correctional Ombudsman, Juvenile Monitoring Unit, Acting Secretary Betsy Fox Tolentino, and Judge Andre Davis of the Juvenile Justice Commission. What an incredible chance to hear directly from leaders shaping justice and public policy in Maryland!

Moments like these remind me why investing in young people matters so much. The future of our state is bright, and it’s in very good hands.

Thank you for representing your schools, districts, and communities so well — keep shining!

Katina Reid Thank you for trusting me all those years ago and for allowing me to walk alongside you in that season of your journey. Knowing I could play even a small role in that means everything to me.

Still here. Still rooting for you. And always just a phone call away.

With love and gratitude. 🤎

"We have a Dream Team Here" We Do!

I’m proud to step into this legislative session during a truly historic moment for Maryland.

As highlighted in Maryland Matters, the House Judiciary Committee is entering a new chapter, one that reflects progress, representation, and a deep commitment to justice. For the first time in nearly two centuries, this committee is led by Chair Bartlett, and I am honored to serve alongside her as Vice Chair. Together, we are ready to take on the serious, often complex work that comes before Judiciary, with integrity, focus, and a people-first approach.

This session will not be easy. The volume of legislation, the long hours, and the weight of the issues before us demand leadership that is steady, prepared, and grounded in community. I’m ready for that responsibility and grateful for the trust placed in me.

The work ahead is about more than policy, it’s about people. I look forward to rolling up my sleeves, asking hard questions, and delivering thoughtful solutions for Marylanders.

Let’s get to work.
