Repost from National Domestic Violence Hotline

For generations, advocates, survivors, and communities have worked to create greater safety, support, and protections for people experiencing relationship abuse. That work has made a difference. And there is still much more to do.

As Domestic Violence Awareness Month approaches, we’re asking our community to move beyond awareness and take action.

Whether you’re an advocate, community member, policymaker, organization, or someone who simply wants to make a difference, your voice matters.

Visit The Hotline Action Center to learn how you can take action to support survivors by clicking the link in our bio.

🔍 Myth: Leaving is easy.
✨ Fact: Leaving is the most dangerous time for many survivors.

NNEDV mourns the death of feminist icon and trailblazer Gloria Steinem, who died yesterday at age 92. We send our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and loved ones.

Our team had the immense privilege of interviewing Gloria in 2016. She spoke at length about her work and her vision for the future.

One piece of wisdom she shared with us was: “If we raised even one generation of children without violence, we have no idea what might be possible.”

We carry this belief forward in our work to create a better, safer world for everyone. 💜

[Image description: Over a purple-toned image of Gloria Steinem, text reads: “If we raised even one generation of children without violence, we have no idea what might be possible. Gloria Steinem.” NNEDV logo below. The NNEDV logo consists of 66 small house shapes arranged in a large house shape, and text reading: “NNEDV National Network to End Domestic Violence.”
