The Light House provides homelessness prevention and support services to individuals and families struggling to meet their basic needs. For over three decades we have been steadfast in our mission of rebuilding lives with compassion by providing shelter and services to prevent homelessness and empower people as they transition towards employment, housing, and self-sufficiency.

Investing in housing stability means investing in a stronger Anne Arundel County. 🏠✨

We are honored to be named a recipient of the Fiscal Year 2027 Community Reinvestment and Repair Commission (CRRC) grant, announced by County Executive Steuart Pittman, Arundel Community Development Services, Inc. - ACDS, and the CRRC!

For The Light House, this funding directly strengthens our Housing and Homeless Prevention Services, ensuring our most vulnerable neighbors in Anne Arundel County receive shelter and wrap-around support on their journey toward stability.

Congratulations to all 52 fellow nonprofit recipients working across mental health, workforce development, education, and youth enrichment. Together, we are building a safer, more resilient, vibrant community!

Special thanks to County Executive Pittman, CRRC Chair Dr. Shawn Ashworth, ACDS CEO Erin Karpewicz, and host Club 164 for making this investment possible.

💧 67 cases of water donated to The Light House!

A generous donation like this goes a long way in helping us support our neighbors throughout the summer. Access to basic necessities can make a meaningful difference for someone experiencing homelessness, especially during the hottest months of the year.

Thank you to Mikel Hicks: Member-Elect Democratic CC, District 32 for helping provide The Light House with a much-needed supply of water for our neighbors this summer and for showing what it means to be a light in our community. 💙

Training for a half marathon takes a lot of miles. This time, David’s miles are helping make a difference right here in our community! 💙🏃‍♂️

On September 20th, he’ll take on the Annapolis RUN for The Light House, with race proceeds supporting our work to prevent homelessness and help our neighbors move toward stability.

A huge thank you to Sherwood Forest's Boys & Girls Camp for organizing a food drive in support of The Light House! Together, they collected 650 pounds of food and made a generous cash donation to help stock our pantry. 🛒🥫

Because of your kindness and generosity, more local families will have access to the food and support they need. Thank you for making such a meaningful impact in our community! 💙

No family should have to choose between basic necessities and preparing their child for school. Together, we can help more local students start the school year prepared, confident, and ready to learn. 📚

Here's how to help:
🎒 Fill a backpack with the school supplies listed.
📍 Drop it off at The Light House, Friday-Sunday, 8 AM-6 PM.
📅 Donations for our Back-to-School Backpack Drive are accepted through August 16th.

Together, we can help local Annapolis students head back to school with the supplies they need to succeed! 💙

Our community is stronger because of volunteers like ACDS! 💙

Their team spent the day serving in our kitchen, pantry, and Carol's Closet, helping prepare our hot community lunch and process donations for neighbors in need. We're so grateful for their time, energy, and commitment to serving our neighbors.

We're incredibly grateful to Starbucks Partners and The Starbucks Foundation for recognizing how we're making our community stronger.

Through their Neighborhood Grant, more of our neighbors will have access to the shelter, support, and resources they need to rebuild their lives and move beyond homelessness.
