Flash back to Earth Day 🌎💚

From knocking on doors and spreading the word to building pollinator gardens, partnering with amazing community organizations, and even starting the day with yoga this Earth Day celebration was truly a labor of love organized and led by Corps Member, Marisa.

Corps Members and Host Organizations across Maryland also led their own Earth Day projects, all working toward a more sustainable future 🌿

Grateful for everyone who showed up, got their hands dirty, journaled, painted, and helped bring this vision to life.✨

Ever wonder what Corps Alumni life looks like after their term of service?

From bold ideas to real world impact Reece (Corps class of ‘24), has been turning vision into action since his year in the Corps with Host Minary’s Dream Alliance where he developed climate-friendly building plans including a greenhouse that would become the blueprint for even bigger things.

Since then, Reece has:
🌿 Built an aquaponics greenhouse (based on his original Corps Capstone Project design)
🏡 Designed and constructed a tiny home in Maine for a family of four powered entirely by solar
🔧 Continued to incorporate sustainability into on and off-grid living

And now, he’s heading back to Maine to take on another ambitious project - building a home for a family of five using 90% renewable materials, minimizing plastic, and showcasing powerful passive energy design principles.

In honor of selecting our next round of All Hands-on Deck Awards for 2026, we had to throw it back to the project that wrapped our 2025 year. ALCT hosted an impactful day filled with restoration, agriculture, education, and fun!

This we have a new cohort, new projects, but the same passion. Big things are coming… stay tuned✨👀

Quick reminder — you don’t need to have everything figured out to start working in the environmental space.

You don’t need:
• A perfect plan
• Years of experience
• The “right” background

Most people start by showing up, learning as they go, and finding support along the way.

If you care about the work and want to grow into it, that’s enough to begin. Save this for later or send it to someone who needs to hear it.

3 reasons to choose a green career:

Find your purpose.

Find your people.

Protect places worth protecting.
