The Maryland Government Relations Association (MGRA) was formed in 1984 to encourage the professional development of people working in the field of government affairs. Membership is limited to government affairs professionals in good standing with the Maryland State Ethics Commission who are willing to comply with MGRA’s Practice Guidelines. The group has grown from a few women in the government a
ffairs field to more than 100 professional lobbyists of all backgrounds. MGRA is the official representative for lobbyists in Annapolis on pertinent issues and hosts a variety of networking and social events regularly. These events include a Primary and General Election Project, legislative leadership breakfast, annual Awards Banquet to recognize leaders in the profession, State Night at the National Council of State Legislature's (NCSL) Legislative Summit, social event at the Maryland Association of Counties (MACo) Summer Conference, happy hours, and other professional and social engagements.
