Labor Day weekend is almost here. Maryland toll facilities, especially the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, will see heavy traffic. With over 345,000 vehicles expected to cross the bridge, the Maryland Transportation Authority urges motorists to plan ahead and drive safely.

Bay Bridge Travel Tips:

- Travel during off-peak hours. The best eastbound times are generally before 10 a.m. or after 9 p.m. Westbound travel is best early in the morning or late at night.
- Stay on US 50 on both sides of the bridge to keep local roadways clear for first responders and residents.
- Expect delays in both directions during peak travel hours and plan your schedule accordingly.

Baltimore Area Closure Reminder: The southeast section of the I-695 Beltway is closed at MD 173 (Exit 1) on the Outer Loop and at Broening Highway (Exit 44) on the Inner Loop. Please seek alternate routes or consider the I-95 Express Toll Lanes.

This morning, I had the pleasure of attending the ribbon cutting for RouteSmart Technologies office expansion. RouteSmart is an advanced route planning and optimization company that helps organizations design efficient, safe, and cost-effective delivery and service routes.

RouteSmart employs over 100 Marylanders right here in District 13. Thank you to the RouteSmart leadership team for inviting me to be apart of this milestone celebration and for allowing me to offer some words of encouragement.

I look forward to seeing the positive impact RouteSmart will continue to have on our community for years to come.

The Smithsonian has designated the historic Arts & Industries Building as the home for the National Museum of the American Latino!

NHCSL is proud to have championed this movement alongside close to 500 Hispanic state legislators nationwide. Our story IS American history, and now it will sit proudly at the center of our Nation’s capital.
