What a great night of Friday Night Lights at Pleasant Valley. We want to express how proud we are of both Calhoun County Schools and how well our communities were represented. Both sides did an outstanding job promoting a night filled with sportsmanship, class, hard‑fought competition, and an unforgettable atmosphere.

The attitude of ALL students is truly to be commended. I witnessed young men from both teams interacting with genuine sportsmanship and heartfelt admiration for one another. That is what high school athletics should be about.

Pleasant Valley’s hospitality was exceptional, and we deeply appreciate the effort put into creating such a welcoming and exciting gameday environment. The game management from their administration was first‑class.

Thank you to everyone who played a part in making it a great night. Calhoun County should be proud.

Flu vaccine consent forms will be sent home tomorrow, 9/10/26. The vaccine clinic will be held on October 6thh and only the students who return a signed form to Nurse Smith will receive a vaccine. Please contact Nurse Smith at 256-741-7609 if you have any questions or concerns.

WWHS Highlander Band Alumni Night

Highlander Band instrumental and auxiliary alumni:
We are incredibly excited to kick off our annual Highlander Band Alumni Night next Friday, Sept. 11th! This is an incredible opportunity for current members and alumni alike to share the experiences and traditions of the WWHS Highlander Band together. We hope to see you there.

Overview:

- Receive a 2026 Highlander Band Show Shirt (limited, first come first served)!

- Receive a custom-made Highlander Band Alumni Button!

- Join the Walter Wellborn High School Highlander Band on the field with your instrument/equipment at the end of halftime to perform our school’s fight song to end the halftime performance!

- Join the Walter Wellborn High School Highlander Band in the band stands for 4th quarter to support our football team!

To Register:

The Highlander Band Boosters are requesting a donation of $20 cash, check, or CashApp ($WWHSBandBoosters) to reserve a spot. All money collected will go directly back to support and maintain the band program.
