I am grateful for the Calhoun County Commission’s update on these essential improvements at our courthouse. This work is much needed to enhance safety, efficiency, and accessibility for everyone who relies on our judicial system.

I want to extend my sincere appreciation to our dedicated courthouse family and to the public for their patience during this ongoing process. Rest assured, our commitment to serving the community will continue uninterrupted as these enhancements progress.

A special thanks to John Gaddy and the entire County Commission for their leadership in making this happen; to architect Bill Whittaker for truly understanding my vision for the expanded courtroom and incorporating it so effectively into the plans; and to Kilgore Construction, whose team has been exemplifying the highest levels of professionalism and accommodation throughout the project.

We look forward to the positive impact these changes will bring for years to come.

Important Update for Our Community:

Due to a much-needed expansion in District Courtroom 292, court sessions normally held there will temporarily move to other courtrooms. I’m posting the detailed schedule (currently posted on the double doors leading to the district courtrooms) for the remainder of the month below, including dates, times, and the assigned courtrooms.

A huge thank you to my fellow judges for graciously allowing me to use their spaces during this transformation—your support means everything!

This upgrade is essential to better serve the people of our county, ensure a safe and comfortable environment by addressing overcrowding issues, and keep our courts open to the public as required.

Please be aware of this scam making its rounds. Texts like this that say they’re from a government agency and push you to make an immediate payment are scams. The courts communicate by US Mail unless you have set up email communications in a particular case. Do NOT click on the link and never give out personal or banking information.

It was my honor to be sworn in to my second term today by my good friend and colleague, Judge Shannon Page. I’m thankful my beautiful wife, Michelle, was able to be part of it. Thank you Amanda for taking pictures and for being with me over 16 years. Thank you Calhoun County for entrusting me with this position for another term.
