We seek to address the needs of a variety of our community’s population. We provide assistance and serve as an advocate for individuals and families in crisis.

Our programs are diverse, meeting the needs of our community members ranging in age, socio-economic status, as well as religious and racially diverse backgrounds. Our Purpose is to foster Interfaith cooperation and understanding as we provide a caring environment for people of all ages and socioeconomic levels.

Our neighbors have been busy.

Over the past few weeks, folks from all over Calhoun County have walked through our door with their arms full. We want you to know who they are.

Calvary Temple Assembly of God brought in a load of donated goods for our neighbors.

Cindy McMinn donated a whole stack of jeans.

Debbie Adams and Good News Compassionate Hands Outreach brought a generous donation of clothes.

Pat Yates gave to our Durable Medical Equipment program, which puts walkers, wheelchairs, and everyday medical supplies into the hands of folks who need them, at no cost.

Kay Boatright donated a CPAP machine to The Open Door, and it is already headed toward a neighbor who needs it.

Every one of these gifts goes straight to work. Nothing sits on a shelf. Nothing goes to waste. That is what looking out for one another looks like around here.

We're proud of the people around our table, and today we want you to meet one of them.

Christopher Carr is a board member here at Interfaith, and he brings a whole career of caring for people to the work. He's a respiratory therapist who got his start in Jacksonville State's very first Respiratory Therapy class, where he was elected class president. From there he worked with Children's of Alabama and UAB before moving into leadership, including a stretch directing five departments at RMC. He earned his Master of Public Health from UAB in 2024, and today he helps lead the work at Pulmonary Care Services.

When Christopher isn't working, he's the youth minister at Anniston Full Gospel Holy Temple, pouring into the next generation. That heart for people is exactly what he brings to our board.

This is what a fresh start looks like. This month we worked alongside our friend Diane Smith to help provide home goods for a mother and her son moving out of Martha's Hope and into a place of their own in Anniston public housing. Permanent housing. A door that's theirs to lock at night. Those everyday basics are what turn an empty apartment into a home, and this is the whole goal, not just a roof for a night, but a way forward.

Caring for our neighbors has always meant caring for their whole selves, and that includes mental health.

So we want to tell you about the Out Of The Shadows Summit, coming up September 1st at the Oxford Civic Center. It runs from 8:00-4:30, lunch included, and it brings our community together to learn, connect, and champion mental health right here at home.

Now for the part that's time sensitive. Early bird registration ends August 1st. Nurses, social workers, and counselors can earn 5.5 CEUs while they're there, and there's a place at this table for professionals, advocates, and families alike.

Don't wait on this one. Register before the end of the month and come help bring mental health out of the shadows.

We get to brag on one of our board members today.

Dr. Morgan Gibson just earned her Fellowship, the FAGD, from the Academy of General Dentistry. It's one of the highest honors a general dentist can reach, and it takes serious work to get there. Morgan completed more than 500 hours of continuing education and passed a tough comprehensive exam to earn it. Only about 6% of general dentists in the country hold this designation.

We're proud to have her at our table. The same commitment to quality care that got her this Fellowship is what she brings to Interfaith, and it matters here, because good dental care can turn a neighbor's whole life around.

Congratulations, Dr. Gibson. Calhoun County is lucky to have you.

Thank you to the Wonder Women of Golden Springs Baptist Church!

These ladies showed up for our neighbors in the best way, dropping off a carload of backpacks for us to put to good use. Backpacks are one of those quietly useful things. They carry belongings, groceries, supplies, whatever a neighbor needs to get where they are going with a little more dignity.

Donations like this let us meet needs as they come. Thank you, Wonder Women, for thinking of your neighbors and showing up with open hands.

If you've ever stopped by Interfaith, chances are Cathy Taylor made you feel welcome.

For over four years now, Cathy has poured her time into nearly every corner of Interfaith. She's helped deliver Meals on Wheels. She's helped our neighbors access showers. She's greeted visitors at the front desk with a smile and kept our clothing and towel donations organized just so.

Wherever there's a need, Cathy always seems to be there already. Her kindness and joyful spirit are felt by everyone she serves. Thank you, Cathy! We're better because of you.

Our clinic has earned a 2026 Gold Rating from the National Association of Free & Charitable Clinics (NAFC). Gold is their highest rating. It means the free care our neighbors receive here meets quality standards recognized at the national level.

We have believed the same thing for over 50 years. Good care should not depend on what you can afford.

This one belongs to our staff, our volunteers, and every hand that has ever served here. Thank you for making Interfaith a place our community can trust.
