The 197th Basic Session of the Northeast Alabama Law Enforcement Academy has successfully completed their 14 weeks of rigorous training, and we are proud to announce that graduation exercises will take place on Thursday, April 9th, 2026.

Event Details:
Reception: Begins at 10:00 a.m.
Ceremony: Begins at 11:00 a.m.
Location: Oxford Civic Center (401 Mccullars Ln, Oxford, AL 36203)
Keynote Speaker: Chief Justin Lovvorn, Greenville Police Department

For those unable to attend in person, the ceremony will be live-streamed on this page, thanks to the efforts of Candace Finley (Media Production teacher), Oxford High School and the OHS Jacket Media video production students.

Prayers for his family and agency.

We extend our sincere sympathies to the family, friends, and colleagues of Conservation Enforcement Officer Senior Shawn Nixon, who passed away while on duty.

CEO Nixon, a native of Lincoln, Alabama, and stationed in Talladega County, served Alabama's citizens with dependable responsiveness and equitable enforcement of wildlife laws since 2012. Nixon's steadfast commitment to conservation and to the citizens of Alabama was evident in the ex*****on of his duties and in his interactions with the public. We are thankful to have shared in CEO Nixon's friendship and career.
