Last week, seniors from around the district competed in the 2026 District 4 Master Games. As Anniston hosted, seniors competed in Shuffleboard, Billiards, Basketball Freethrow, Softball Freethrow, Nerf & Frisbee, Domino's, Rook, and Corn Hole. Seniors with eligible scores will advance to State Games later this fall. These special games would not be possible without ALL of our wonderful sponsors, hosts (Anniston Senior Center & Anniston Aquatic & Fitness Center), and the great staff of Anniston & Jacksonville PARD.

Last Thursday (May 14th, 2026), our seniors had the significant opportunity to stand on historic ground 65 years later to the day as the Freedom Riders bus attack. Several of our very own seniors were living in the area when this senseless attack occurred. If you know any of them, talk with them about it and allow them give you a tangible account of their own.

God bless the brave men & women that stood for something bigger than themselves on May 14th, 1961. Our country is better because of them. ✊️ πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²
