Corrections Sgt. Cody Davis and SRO Dep. Seth Kirk participated in the Piezilla pizza eating contest at Cici’s in Oxford earlier today.

Ultimately our friends at the Anniston Fire Department took home the trophy, but we still had a blast watching the contestants get progressively more miserable!

The guys from the Oxford Police Department would have won, but they deposited their pizza back on the floor 🤢🤣.

Earlier this week, detectives with our Offender Management Bureau conducted a focused operation targeting registered offenders believed to be noncompliant with the law within our jurisdiction.

During the operation:

• 21 target offenders tied to outstanding warrants were identified and actively worked by detectives.
• 7 arrests were ultimately made, including 5 arrests for confirmed SORNA violations.
• 2 additional arrests were made on unrelated outstanding warrants.
• 8 offenders were confirmed to already be incarcerated in other jurisdictions.
• 3 offenders were removed from active status following records verification and investigative review.
• Multiple additional compliance checks were conducted throughout the operation.
• Detectives developed additional leads, including information outside of Calhoun County that will be forwarded to detectives assigned to the U.S. Marshals Service Task Force for follow-up.

Operations such as this are important not only for making arrests, but also for maintaining accurate offender records, locating absconded offenders, verifying compliance, and developing intelligence for future enforcement efforts.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to aggressively pursuing offenders who fail to comply with registration requirements and to protecting the communities we serve.

Registration requirements vary by offender based on their original charges, age and relationship of the victim, and other legal factors.

Information about s*x offenders in our county can be located here https://www.calcoso.org/s*x-offenders/
