Way to go Ollie
Our K9s Continue to Produce for the Community!
Last week, Deputy Kuhnly and K9 Ollie crossed the bridge to assist our partners at the Superior Police Department.
Officers responded to a disturbance on the beach at Wisconsin Point. At some point before law enforcement arrived, a suspect had discharged a handgun. The suspect was located in nearby woods, but the firearm was nowhere to be found. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the weapon.
That’s when K9 Ollie went to work.
Ollie was able to reverse-track the suspect approximately 75 yards into the woods. Deputy Kuhnly noticed the leash had gone slack, indicating that Ollie had stopped tracking. Deputy Kuhnly pushed through the vegetation and discovered Ollie in a down position—with the pistol lying directly in front of him!
With the firearm located so close to a beach frequently occupied by children, finding it was absolutely critical to keeping the community safe.
This is a huge success for K9 Ollie and Deputy Kuhnly, who put their training and skills to work protecting the community!
