Tigers Giving Back: Anson HS Students Lend a Helping Hand

Just because it’s a new school year doesn’t mean our students have stopped being some of the best students in the Big Country! Once again, Ms. Salge has rounded up a great group of Anson High School students to lend a helping hand at the food bank.

On the last Thursday of each month (except November and December), our students head to Anson Methodist Church to give their time and energy to help organize, pack, and distribute food to members of our community.

This month, we want to recognize Naomi, Melanie, Mason, Hayden, and Leah for giving their time to serve others and represent Anson High School. These students rolled up their sleeves and showed that Tiger Pride is about more than just what happens in the classroom—it’s about giving back to your community!

This incredible community effort has been going strong for over 25 years, thanks in large part to Barbara Berry, who has been organizing and helping coordinate the food bank for more than two decades. Bruce Morgan, along with Julie, Rhonda, Cathy, Dorothy, Kay, and Curtis, also help make sure everything runs smoothly and our community is taken care of.

And you can always count on Joe Boaz to show his love for the USA! 🇺🇸 His patriotic spirit is always on full display!

Service with a Smile: Anson High School Delivers Meals on Wheels

High school is full of lessons, but some of the most important ones happen far beyond the classroom. At Anson High School, students are stepping up to serve their neighbors by delivering hot food and warm smiles through the local Meals on Wheels program.

At the center of this effort is Mrs. Salge, an extraordinary leader who sets a powerful example for every student involved. Her hands-on dedication, kindness, and unwavering commitment to serving others show teenagers what true leadership looks like in action. By walking the talk, Mrs. Salge inspires her students to show up with enthusiasm, patience, and heart.

To all our incredible Anson High School students: thank you for everything you do.

Meet the Tigers Kicks Off an Exciting New Season 🐅❤️🖤

Anson ISD proudly welcomed students, families, and community members to Meet the Tigers last night as we officially kicked off another exciting school year and athletic season.

Even with the Texas heat putting up a pretty good fight, our Tiger fans showed up and brought plenty of school spirit! 🥵☀️ The evening featured introductions of our Varsity and JV Football teams, Cheerleaders, Cross Country and Anson Tiger Band.

Each group was recognized for the hard work, dedication, and commitment they have already put in as they prepare to represent Anson throughout the upcoming season. From the football field to the sidelines and the band stands, our students are ready to make this another great year for the Tigers.

The heat may have been intense, but the Tiger pride was even hotter! 🔥🐅

Thank you to everyone who came out to support our students and helped make Meet the Tigers a great success. Your support means so much to our students, coaches, sponsors, and staff.

Anson High School will be hosting a college and career fair on Thursday, October 1st from 10:30 to 1:30. This event will be open to all AHS students grades 8-12. Students from surrounding schools that will be attending our ACT - Chad Cargill workshop that morning will also be in attendance. We would love to have your college or career represented at our event. It will be limited space so first sign up first serve. The energy on campus today is incredible, and we are so excited to kick off a fantastic new school year—with a extra special shoutout to our Class of 2027 Seniors as they begin their final year of high school! 🎓

Highlights from Today:

Auditorium Orientation: Mrs. Overby kicked things off bright and early, bringing all our students together in the auditorium to share expectations, exciting plans, and words of encouragement.

Hallway Navigation: Mrs. Murphy and our dedicated support staff were stationed all throughout the building, ensuring every student found their classes and felt confident getting where they needed to go.

Classroom Energy: Our teachers have spent days prepping, organizing, and decorating—they are officially ready to spark curiosity and inspire learning!
