The annual City of Ansonia Memorial Day Parade is TODAY, May 31, 2026. The parade will begin at Nolan Field on Wakelee Avenue at 2:00 P.M.. In order to ensure all the parade participants are safe, we will be closing the parade route to vehicle traffic beginning at 1:00 P.M.. The parade route is Wakelee Avenue from Nolan Field to Jackson Street, left onto Jackson Street to Maple Street, right onto to Maple Street over the Maple Street bridge right onto Main Street and ending at Main Street and West Main Street. Only vehicles involved in the parade and residents that live on Franklin Street, North Westwood, South Westwood Road and Wakelee Avenue from Franklin Street to the Seymour town line will be granted access to those areas starting at 1:00 P.M.. Additionally, East Main Street, between Kingston Drive and State Street, will be a no parking area to allow for temporary 2-way traffic during the parade. We expect the road closures to last 2 to 3 hours.

The annual City of Ansonia Memorial Day Parade is this Sunday, May 31, 2026. The parade will begin at Nolan Field on Wakelee Avenue at 2:00 P.M.. The Ansonia Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing person who left her home on the 21st.

Taleah Barros is a 16-year-old female, approximately 5’5” tall, weighing 265 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. She was last seen wearing a white shirt, black sweatpants, and a green backpack. She also has a Flower tattoo on her left forearm and a lip piercing.
Barros is known to frequent the New Haven area.

Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is asked to contact the Ansonia Police Department at 203-735-1885.

His hard work, compassion, and investigative efforts continue to make a lasting impact both within Ansonia and beyond. Congratulations on this well deserved honor, we are proud to serve alongside of you.

“Detective Mark Clifford began his career with the Ansonia Police Department in 2012, serving as a patrol officer and Field Training Officer for new recruits while primarily assigned to the midnight shift, In recognition of his dedication and investigative abilities, he was promoted to Detective in 2023.

As a member of the ICAC Task Force, Detective Clifford investigates cases involving child exploitation, including ICAC CyberTips and the sextortion of minors. His work has led to numerous arrests and the identification of both offenders and victims throughout Connecticut, across the United States, and internationally.
Beyond his investigative responsibilities, Detective Clifford is deeply committed to community outreach and education. He regularly visits local elementary schools to speak with students about online safety and the daily responsibilities of law enforcement. He also provides presentations to senior citizens on current fraud scams and strategies to protect themselves from victimization.

Detective Clifford was the recipient of the 2023 Brian F. Phipps Memorial Award of Excellence and was recently recognized by the South Central Child Advocacy Center for his outstanding work in the prevention and investigation of crimes involving child victims.”
