Good news! Our great region crew came over from Cedar City today and put our docks on the water at both Piute and Otter Creek. The dock at Otter Creek has been retrofitted with cool, custom-made vertical boarding handles to assist folks getting in and out of their boats.!

Heads up Utah! All Utah State Parks are under Stage 2 Fire Restrictions.🔥

This means no open fires of ANY kind in all parks. That includes fires within an established fire pit, charcoal grills and barbecues, coal and wood burning stoves, and tent stoves.

Properly shielded gas or liquid-fueled portable camp stoves with a shut-off valve are allowed, so long as there is at least three feet in diameter that is barren with no flammable vegetation.

The fire restrictions also include:

🚬 No smoking near dry vegetation
🏍 Making sure all motorcycles, ATV’s or other small internal combustion engines have an approved spark arrestor.

And simple steps like not parking your car on plants, and making sure your chains don’t drag can help prevent wild fires.

Protecting our state from wild fires takes all of us practicing fire sense. Do your part to protect your parks as we get through this hot and dry summer. Learn more about fire restrictions at utahfireinfo.gov.

We’ve finally got some new ice. When we checked it today it was almost 3” here in the park, but it did have some flex to it and was cracking under our feet. A couple more cold nights would help lock it up. As always, use extreme caution. Lake ice is never safe.
