WHAT A DAY! Our Antioch Aces put up a great showing for all of the fans who came out to cheer them on--unfortunately, the McHenry Independants came up a few players short due to unforeseen circumstances and several of our Aces offered to play for the opposing team. Final score was 16-1 Independants! Our players who crossed over scored close to half of the 16 runs! Everyone had a wonderful time and attached you will find the team photo with our special guest, Glenn Fox, original Antioch Ace wearing the star in the center. They are already talking about a second game next year....stay tuned!

We also want to thank all the baseball fans who contributed to the RESTORE THE DOORS campaign. We are well on our way! THANK YOU and GO ACES!!

The "BIG GAME" is getting close--THIS SATURDAY, 1:00 pm, Tim Osmond Sports Park. ADMISSION IS FREE!

Our Antioch Aces have looked amazing in practice! This is going to be so much fun--WEATHER PERMITTING! We also have a special guest scheduled to throw out the first pitch!

Please join us, and, if you are able, please bring a few dollars to help the historical society replace the 50 year old doors on the Schoolhouse Museum. It would be very much appreciated.

While you are waiting for Friday.....here is another one of our WONDERFUL ANTIOCH ACES!

Our part of celebrating AMERICA 250 will be the 1858 Baseball game between the McHenry Independants (that's how they spell it!) and our very own ANTIOCH ACES. Held June 6th at Tim Osmond Sports Park at 1:00 pm. Admission is free, but we will also be holding a fundraiser for the Lakes Region Historical Society's RESTORE THE DOORS CAMPAIGN. The doors on the schoolhouse museum are holding, but will soon fail and MUST BE REPLACED this summer! If you are able to help with a monetary donation the day of the BIG GAME, good things might come your way! More details to follow.

In the interim, here is a photo of one of the original ANTIOCH ACES, BEN DRURY. Ben was born April 28, 1890 in Avon Township, but grew up and lived in Antioch. He was also a VETERAN OF WWI HAVING SERVED IN THE 3RD. ENGINEERS SERVICE CO. 20th ENGINEERS. Let us honor Ben for his service, as well as all of the others who have served and gone before. And GO ACES!

This is not the Antioch team which will be playing on June 6 at Osmond Sports fields, but they are one of the original Antioch/Aces teams.
We know that the Aces played from the early 1900's into the 1940's, but exact dates remain unknown. If you recognize any of these players, please let us know. As of now, their names are lost to time.
(A couple members of the Lake Villa team joined for the photo!)
