Antioch Republicans We work to unite the local Republicans into an active, constructive organization.

The Antioch Republicans are a dedicated group committed to supporting our elected officials, community members, their families, and the surrounding area. We actively engage in local and national discussions, ensuring that the voices of the community are heard and represented. Our efforts include organizing events, providing resources, and fostering a sense of camaraderie among members. The Antioch

These meetings are an excellent opportunity for members to connect, share insights, and stay informed about important issues affecting their community and beyond. Our continued support and active participation play a crucial role in strengthening the community and promoting the values they stand for. If you're interested in getting involved or learning more, attending one of their monthly meetings is a great place to start.

Bad news: Illinois Democrats 'reject' five property tax reform proposals.

The reason...because they are all proposed by Illinois Republicans.

With many Illinoisans in a state of shock after receiving their property taxes in the mail this week, the need for property tax relief is on taxpayers mind. Ina press conference on Tuesday, Illinois Republicans laid out a detailed proposal [Video link in first comment]

Here are five proposals in Springfield that are being proposed by Illinois House Republicans that JB Pritzker and Illinois Democrats::

-HB 9 (Rep Ugaste) - Provides direct property tax relief to homeowners by creating the Fixed Pension Property Tax Relief Plan. (Estimated at $3.5 billion in state property tax relief for 2026 alone.)

-HB 5611, HB 5612 (Rep. Weaver) - Provides property tax relief by reinvesting funds from paid bonds.

- HB 2543 (Rep. Sosnowski) - Taxpayer Empowerment, forces taxing bodies to ask voters for approval.

-HB 1024 (Rep. Cabello) - Mandates sunsets for tax referenda, adds transparency.

-HB 5550 (Rep. Fritts) - Truth in Taxation (increases notice for tax increases).

Antioch Mayor Scott Gartner delivers on a promise to lower taxes. Village of Antioch, Illinois - Government

The Village has approved a reduction in its property tax levy and adopted the FY2027 budget, which will deliver meaningful tax relief while maintaining high-quality services for residents. The levy was lowered from 4.98% to 2.3%, keeping the increase below the Consumer Price Index. At the same time, the balanced budget invests in roads, parks, water and sewer infrastructure and public safety – without taking on new debt – to ensure the community continues to thrive both now and in the future. 💙 BLUE ENVELOPE PROGRAM NOW AVAILABLE 💙

The Antioch Police Department is proud to introduce the Blue Envelope Program, a simple, proactive tool designed to improve communication and reduce stress during traffic stops for drivers with autism and other communication-related needs.

The blue envelope helps organize important documents—driver’s license, registration, insurance, and emergency contact information—while also signaling to officers that the driver may benefit from clear, calm, and patient communication during the interaction.

This program reflects the Department’s ongoing commitment to safety, understanding, and positive community interactions.

Chief Geoff Guttschow emphasized the importance of the initiative, noting that small, practical steps like this can make a meaningful difference in high-stress situations and help build stronger connections between officers and the community.

💙 Blue Envelopes are now available at the Antioch Police Department. If you or a family member could benefit from this program, please stop by our department and pick one up.

Together, we continue working to make every interaction safer, clearer, and more supportive.

Republicans Do NOT sign petitions that put Independent or third party candidates on the ballot. Every signature helps create new obstacles for our own nominees and fractures the coalition we’ve been working hard to rebuild in both our County and our state.

We already face an uphill battle against well‑funded opposition. We cannot afford to hand them an easy advantage by dividing our voters or diluting our strength. Stay focused, stay disciplined, and keep our momentum where it matters, building a unified Republican Party that can win.
