ANTONITO POOL TEAM WINS
On July 19 the Antonito pool team t**e on the Alamosa Pool Team, with only six players to play, the Antonito came out the winners Defeating Alamosa 15-9 games.
With the win the Antonito Pool Team returned with the trophy and will hold on to it, until the meet again on August 9, Thursday at 9:00 am in Antonito.
So come and support the Antonito Pool Team on the Thursday August 9 at 9:am against Alamosa and on Thursday August 16 will be against Monte Vista.

Dear, Loyal Followers

My name is Chris DeHerrera and I am the Director of Antonito Senior Citizens Association, our mission is “To enrich empower, support and protect Senior Citizens.”
We serve meals at lunch to congregate and deliver to homebound seniors every weekday. We hold educational workshops on senior issues such as health, chronic disease, diabetes, nutrition, fraud prevention, Medicare-Medicaid issues, Colorado Old Age Pension, information and referrals.
These are all very important issues as the number one concern of our seniors is the desire to remain in their own homes as they age. We try to support these seniors with financial and social support to keep them in their homes.
By keeping them young in mind and retaining their ability will help them do this with our recreational activities; dances, exercises, word games, cards games, trips to different locations, pool tournaments, potlucks, fund raisers, sending cards, birthday, get well and sympathy card; in order to help keep their mind and body mobile. Trying to find a balance between the 80+ and the 60+ seniors can be a challenge.
We would like to increase the number of trips that we offer to our seniors and not have to charge and do more special events for our seniors such as; events outside of the valley and overnight trips and we could help subsidize the cost of their motel.
We can only get this done by the help and donations for our community and companies like yours.
We are hoping that you can assist us in our continuous work with the seniors within the Antonito, Co. with your kind donations our seniors can thrive.
