Please remember to come to the Selectboard meeting on Monday 6/23 at 7pm to show your support for the West/School street stop sign. If you had not noticed the town cleared some brush last week from the corner and roadside. We would like to thank them for that good faith effort. However, the blind spot still exists and this does not entirely solve the problem.

The town will need to keep up with the brush cutting and in winter clear snow from the corner and roadside on a regular basis to maintain this slightly increased measure of visibility. If the town is willing to dig out the mound behind the backstop and along the roadside to street level, this may be acceptable. However, the stop sign remains the safest and cheapest option for families of Antrim.

The PTO would like to thank all the hard working teachers and staff of AES. It was a fantastic year and we appreciate all you do and all you have done. Have a great summer everyone!

Field Day is tomorrow!

06/12/2014

Field day is fast approaching. June 17th is going to be a fun day. Many activities are planned, including storyteller Len Cabral! Come volunteer and join the fun :)

Good morning. It appears we have been a little too aggressive in gaining attention for the installation of a stop sign on the corner of West St. and School St. The post regarding the stop sign was not meant to put anyone on the defensive or to cause friction leading up to the meeting. This was intended to be a major push for support only. I apologize personally for any unintended harm this may have caused. Let's please remain upbeat, positive and work with the town Selectmen to find a way to get this done in a respectful manner.

A stop sign has been requested at the corner of West St. and School St. for vehicles heading down West St. into town. Since the school entrance and exit were flipped prior to this school year, it has been clear to many that there is a safety concern with the new exit.

The Selectmen have placed it on the agenda for 6/23 at 7pm.

Don't forget about storyteller Len Cabral's visit to AES on 6/17! The show starts at 1:45.

The Cornucopia Project is a garden growing program and will be coming to AES!

The GBS PTO wants to discuss how we can provide summer care for the gardens and are looking for ideas and support from local families and friends. The beds will be located by the dumpsters/ sandbox. They can be watered by maintenance. Periodic weeding will be needed, as well as picking the produce that becomes ripe in the duration.

The CP reps are meeting with GBS PTO at their final meeting on June 2 at 6:30pm. More details are to follow. Stay tuned!
