Our thoughts and prayers are with our brothers and sisters of the Morrill, Maine fire department.

Maine officials have identified the firefighter killed in the line of duty during Thursday's explosion and fire in Searsmont as 27-year-old Morrill firefighter Andrew Cross.

According to the Maine Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and State Fire Marshal Shawn Esler, Firefighter Cross was killed during firefighting operations at the Robbins Lumber incident on Main Street in Searsmont.
