Our goal is to keep this a positive and respectful space for families, staff, students, and community members.

The Apache Junction Unified School District serves over 3,000 students in a 217-square mile area that includes the City of Apache Junction, Gold Canyon, Peralta Trail, Queen Valley and the unincorporated areas of the Superstition Mountain foothills. Welcome to the Official page of the Apache Junction Unified School District

We’re proud to serve the families of AJUSD at the gateway to the Superstition Mountains. Since 1952, our district has provided a strong foundation for students—rooted in tradition, powered by innovation, and driven by our shared mission: “Small District, Big Heart, Endless Possibilities.”

Today, AJUSD is home to an exciting portfolio of Premier Programs that reflect our commitment to preparing students for what’s next:

- GenTech STEM – Innovation through coding, robotics, and real-world problem-solving

- Dual Language Immersion – Building bilingual fluency from kindergarten on

- The Classical Academy at Superstition Mountain – A timeless K-5 education model with a tech-forward edge

- Desert Vista Elementary Leadership Progream – Cultivating tomorrow’s leaders with purpose and pride

- Early College / Dual Enrollment – Earning college credit in high school

- Career & Technical Education (CTE) – Industry certifications, job readiness, and hands-on learning

- Fine Arts, Athletics, and Enrichment – Creativity, teamwork, and self-expression across every grade

Being a principal means people count on you, even on the days when there’s no easy answer.

Here at AJUSD, it means knowing our families, supporting our teachers and staff, and seeing the potential in every student. It means working through challenges, making tough calls, and finding ways to give our kids more opportunities with the resources we have. It’s celebrating a student’s breakthrough, having a difficult conversation with care, and showing up the next morning ready to do it again.

For National Principals Month, we want our principals to hear this: we see the heart and effort you put into our schools. We know this work isn’t always easy, and we’re grateful for the people who choose to do it.

Thank you for caring deeply about our kids, our staff, and this community. You make a difference here.

They worked in small groups to tackle difficult equations, then worked on the whiteboard to build 2-part math trees. Great work, students!

Today at Apache Junction High School, Ms. Kline's ceramics students weaved baskets!
To demonstrate their mastery of clay, students created structured coil baskets designed to, of course, hold their shape and eventually stand on their own. It's so amazing to see how each student put their own unique twist on their project!

What are some things you worry about?

Between bills, family drama, and the never ending to-do list, we all have things that worry us. But our youngest learners have worries, too!
This week, our The Early Learning Center - AJUSD students are here remind you that worrying is a normal part of life. Sometimes, all you need is to pause, take a deep breath, give yourself a moment, and make sure there is enough chocolate milk left in the fridge. 💚
