So proud of Apache’s own Lacy Nix on this recognition! There is not a person out there who works harder than she does and manages to be the kindest person we know! Congratulations Lacy!🎉

A much needed update at the Apache Community Building!

The floors in the back room have been completely resurfaced, including the stage, and they turned out great.

This is something that was very much overdue, and I’m glad to see some attention being put back into a building that has served our community for many years.

Little by little, we’re continuing to take care of what we have and make improvements where we can. I think this one made a huge difference!

Town Hall will be closed from 8am-12:00pm Friday August 28th so that staff members can pay respects to Town Board Member Larissa Wetselline at the funeral of her husband Barry Wetselline.

We will open the front window at 12:00pm and remain open until 5:00pm

Thank you for your understanding.

Our community lost one of our own with the unexpected passing of Barry Wetselline.

Barry was a Boone Apache graduate, a dad with children in our school system, a Booster Club member, and someone who stepped up to serve on the Boone Apache School Board. His time on the board may have been short, but his willingness to step up and serve says a lot about the kind of person he was.

In a small community like ours, a loss like this is felt by so many. Barry was a husband, a father, a friend, a neighbor, a Warrior, and a part of our community.

My heart especially goes out to his wife, Larissa, who serves our community on the Apache Town Board alongside myself, Tina, Marin, and Belinda, and who I’m fortunate to call a longtime friend. Larissa, my heart breaks for you and your family. There really aren’t words for something like this. I just hope you and the kids know how many people are praying for you, thinking about you, and standing beside you right now.

The Town of Apache, our Board of Trustees, and this entire community are keeping Larissa, their children, Barry’s family and friends, and the Boone Apache Public Schools family in our thoughts and prayers.

As Mayor, I’ll be writing a proclamation in Barry’s honor for Friday. I know a proclamation can’t begin to lessen the loss his family is experiencing, but I want to make sure his service to our community and the impact he made here are recognized and remembered.

Barry was willing to step up and serve his community. That meant something, and it still does.

Once a Warrior, always a Warrior.

Over 80% of ALL firefighters in Oklahoma are VOLUNTEER!!

Astounding statistic!

Please show your support with the donation of items requested or monetary donations if possible. It is also a huge help if you can keep property cleaned & cleared to deter the spread of fires when they happen. Pray for the safety of our brave and selfless volunteers!
