We are still working on our historic wall of Chiefs here at APD. We welcome any old photos, information about former police chiefs, stories you would like to share, or? any historic memorabilia such as uniforms, patches, badges etc. that you may want to donate to us. We hope to have the entire front lobby of our office done as a historic time line of our city police history, (that the community would be welcome to come view) going back to before there was police chiefs and there were city Marshall's! Message us, or call Lizzette at 850-653-9755. Thanks guys!

Tropical Depression Two is anticipated to develop into a tropical storm tomorrow, July 20, 2026. Currently, Franklin County is not within the forecast cone, but we are under a tropical storm watch. This is expected to be primarily a rain event, with projected rainfall between 4-6 inches. Strong wind gusts are expected, and there is a slight chance of experiencing sustained tropical storm-force winds. Depending on your location in the county, there is a 5-20% chance of experiencing these winds, with the highest likelihood in the western part of the county. There is also potential for up to 3 feet of storm surge along the coast. As of now, there are no evacuation plans in place. However, if you feel unsafe, please consider moving inland until the storm has passed.
