What a fun day! We were greeted by a visit from the Army Aviation Heritage Foundation this afternoon to refuel on their way home. It is not every day that a Cobra and UH1 Huey stop in to the Collegedale Airport!

This year’s photo pays tribute to the rich history shared by Collegedale and Ooltewah. Our iconic silver cruiser was photographed at the site of the former Ooltewah train depot, a place where countless soldiers, students, families, friends, and even a Bull Moose U.S. President once stopped to stretch their legs while traveling through, or to, our small town during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Now it’s time to make some history of our own.

Wings & Wheels at the Collegedale Municipal Airport Rescheduled to Friday, June 26 Due to Forecasted Weather

Collegedale, TN — Organizers of the highly anticipated Wings & Wheels event at Collegedale Airport have announced that the event has been postponed to Friday, June 26th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM due to the possibility of inclement weather originally forecasted for Saturday, May 30th.

Hosted in partnership with Stroll The Hamptons, Ooltewah, the family-friendly community event will still take place at Collegedale Airport and continue to benefit Doing What We Can Homeless Outreach.

Wings & Wheels promises an exciting evening featuring an impressive showcase of aircraft and luxury sports cars, along with local business vendors, food trucks, a live DJ, and fun yard games and family activities for all ages.

Event organizers made the decision to reschedule in order to provide the safest and most enjoyable experience possible for attendees, vendors, and participants.

“We want everyone to be able to fully enjoy the event comfortably and safely,” said organizers. “By moving the event to June 26th, we’re looking forward to an even better evening of community fun while supporting a meaningful cause.”

Admission remains a $5 suggested donation per adult, with children admitted free. Proceeds from the event will support the mission of Doing What We Can Homeless Outreach and their efforts to assist individuals and families experiencing homelessness in the local community.

Community members are encouraged to mark their calendars for the new date and come enjoy an evening of entertainment, connection, and charitable impact.

The City of Collegedale invites you to join us on Saturday, July 4, 2026, as we celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States with our Independence Day Celebration.

The celebration begins at 5 p.m., with food, fun, community, and plenty of patriotic spirit as we gather together for one of Collegedale’s favorite annual traditions. Then, after dark, we’ll close out the evening with the annual fireworks show lighting up the sky over Collegedale. 🎇

Bring your family, invite your friends, and make plans now to spend July 4th with us as we celebrate America’s 250th birthday together.

Road improvements on the way! If you’re driving in these affected areas, please use caution! ⚠️

Heads up! Road paving will begin next week in the area of Tallant Road and McDonald Road, starting May 18th. Paving will begin at the Tallant Road and McDonald Road intersection and continue southbound toward the pistol range. Please use caution when traveling through the area and expect delays.
