Last week, our personnel completed our annual Emergency Vehicle Operator course, which also included valuable hands-on training using the driving simulator provided by the Ohio Fire Academy.

Operating an emergency vehicle is a tremendous responsibility, and driver safety is something we do not take lightly. Training like this allows our personnel to sharpen their skills, improve decision-making, and prepare for the challenges that come with operating emergency vehicles under stressful conditions.

Getting there safely is just as important as getting there quickly.

Thank you to the Wayne County Regional Training Facility and to the Ohio Fire Academy for providing space and resources for this to happen!

A Very Special Delivery 🚑

Monday morning brought a call that was a little different than most.

At 0643, Wayne County Communications received a phone call regarding an expecting mother who was going into labor. At 0644, our department was dispatched.

Our crews arrived and by 0654 our personnel welcomed a brand-new member of the community into the world.

Please join us in congratulating the family and baby Alvin, a healthy baby boy who entered the world weighing 6 lbs. 10 oz. and measuring 19 3/4 inches long!

This past weekend, our department members and their families came together for our annual summer picnic! ☀️🚒

Great food, a competitive kids’ water barrel competition, unlimited ice cream, and more desserts than we could possibly eat made for an incredible afternoon!

But days like this remind us that we’re more than just a fire department. We’re one giant extended family.

We’re incredibly thankful for the members and families who make our department what it is. Here’s to another year of serving our community and enjoying plenty of time together along the way!

🚒 Congratulations are in order! 🚒

Last week, we were able to officially recognize Nick Schlabach with his promotion to Lieutenant.

Lt. Schlabach joined our department in 2021 and has been an extremely dedicated and valued member ever since. His strong work ethic, dedication, and leadership abilities have made him a tremendous asset to our department.

We look forward to his future with the department and are excited to see him take on this new role and continue to grow as a leader.

Congratulations, Lt. Schlabach! We’re proud to have you on our team!

Last night we had a great training focused on Emergency Vehicle Operations, presented by Lieutenant “Pineapple” Raymond from the Apple Creek Fire Department and the Ohio Fire Academy.

Lt. Raymond brings a tremendous amount of knowledge and real-world experience to this class and is well known throughout Ohio for his expertise in emergency vehicle operations. We appreciate him taking the time to share his experience and help make our members safer and more effective behind the wheel.

Over the past two months, three of our members have celebrated milestone anniversaries, totaling an incredible 80 years of dedicated service to our department.

We are truly blessed to have members who commit decades of their lives to serving our community. Through every stage of life, they continue to answer the call with dedication, professionalism, and selflessness.

Thank you for your unwavering commitment, countless sacrifices, and the example you set for the next generation. Your years of service have made a lasting impact on our department and the community we proudly serve. Congratulations on your well-earned anniversaries, and thank you for all you do!

Thank you Kidron Volunteer Fire Department for inviting us to such a great training! Our crews were able to participate in high quality training alongside many of our mutual aid partners.

Our crew put teamwork, determination, and a little friendly competition on full display to earn the top spot.
