Apple Valley Animal Shelter The Town of Apple Valley Municipal Animal Shelter is a managed admission facility, allowing us to increase the placement of animals in our care.

We accept animals from residents within the Town limits of Apple Valley, Ca. Proof of residency is required. The Town of Apple Valley Municipal Animal Shelter is an open admission facility. We provide sheltering services to Apple Valley, Ca residents. Anyone may submit an application to adopt an animal from our Municipal Shelter at [email protected]. AVAS reserves the right to approve

or deny an application. Our primary goal is the placement of adoptable pets into a permanent loving home when they cannot be reunited with their owners.

Did you lose someone?

Let us help find your lost pet. Our goal is to reunite lost pets with their families as quickly as possible. Each picture posted will include impound number and area where the pet was found. Any additional information or identification must be done in person during our normal business hours.

✅Complete a lost/found report here at the shelter.
✅Make a flyer and post via social media and in local pet groups.

🐾Enter the Pawscar Award Contest by sharing how your adopted pet has changed your life. Whether they made you laugh, helped you heal, or became your best friend – we want to hear your story!

Need safe, natural pest control? Apple Valley Animal Services offers a FREE Barn Cat / Working Cat Adoption Program for cats that are not suited for indoor living or regular human interaction. These independent cats thrive in barns, garages, warehouses, and businesses while helping control rodents.

What adopters provide:
✔️ A safe outdoor shelter (barn, garage, or enclosed building)
✔️ Ongoing food, fresh water, and veterinary care as needed

What’s included — at NO COST:
✔️ Spay/neuter
✔️ Vaccinations
✔️ Parasite treatment
✔️ Ear-tipping
✔️ Adoption fee is waived for qualified adopters

Successful transition:
A 2–4 week confinement period in the new environment is required to help cats adjust. Provide protection from weather, food, water, and a litter box. Hiding at first is normal behavior. Adopting two cats is encouraged to help them adjust and remain in the area
