When every second counts, you can make a difference.

Hands-Only CPR is a simple skill that anyone can learn. In those critical moments before first responders arrive, your actions can make a meaningful difference.

1. Call 911 immediately.
2. Push hard and fast in the center of the chest.
3. Keep going at a steady pace of 100–120 compressions per minute (think of the beat of a fast song).

The Apple Valley Fire Department offers Hands Only CPR classes to local groups. In this class, Allina Health helps with teaching city staff the basics of CPR.

Ever wondered what it takes to become a firefighter? The Fire Explorer Program offers youth ages 14 through 20 a unique opportunity to step into the world of fire service and start building real skills for the future.

Through a combination of hands-on training, classroom instruction, and real-world skill development, participants gain valuable experience while learning directly from dedicated Apple Valley firefighters who share their time and knowledge.

Explorers don’t just learn the basics—they develop:

🔥 Fire Danger & Burning Restrictions 🔥

Dry conditions and elevated fire risk mean it’s critical to use extra caution. Burning is not allowed when winds exceed 15 mph. Even a small spark can quickly grow into a dangerous wildfire.
