🇺🇸 Honoring Our Veterans , Celebrating Courage and Service 🇺🇸

This Veterans Day, The Alpha Connection proudly honors the brave men and women who have served our nation with courage, sacrifice, and heart.

Their dedication reminds us of the incredible strength it takes to serve , to face uncertainty, overcome challenges, and never lose sight of hope. These same values inspire the young people we serve every day.

Much like our veterans, youth in foster care show remarkable resilience and determination as they navigate life’s obstacles and work toward brighter futures.

Today, we salute our veterans for their service and example , and we celebrate the spirit of perseverance and purpose that connects us all.

Thank you to all who have served. Your courage lights the way for generations to come.

Dear Friend of Alpha Connection,

This Thanksgiving season, Alpha Connection Youth & Family Services is preparing to once again bless our community with our Annual Turkey Tailgate Giveaway. On Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., we will gather at our Apple Valley campus to distribute 350 turkeys to local families, seniors, and veterans in need.

But we cannot do this without you.

Across America, millions of households are struggling with food insecurity. According to Feeding America, more than 34 million people, including 9 million children, face hunger each year. Here in California, food banks report record demand as families battle the double impact of inflation and rising housing costs. Since 2020, grocery prices have risen by nearly 25%, with staples like turkey, eggs, and dairy seeing some of the highest increases. What was once a simple holiday meal has become out of reach for too many of our neighbors.

At Alpha Connection, we’ve seen firsthand how powerful a single act of generosity can be. For over three decades, we've worked tirelessly to uplift and support troubled youth—helping them rediscover purpose, rebuild confidence, and reclaim their future. But none of this would be possible without you—our community, our supporters, and the heart of our mission.

While there are many ways nonprofits like ours can secure funding, donations remain the heartbeat of everything we do. They’re not just about finances—they’re about connection, compassion, and commitment.

More Than a Check—A Lifeline of Purpose

When someone gives to Alpha Connection, it’s more than just a financial contribution. It’s a statement. It says, “I believe in what you’re doing. I believe these young lives are worth investing in.”

Each donation we receive is a bridge—a powerful link between our mission and the hearts of those in the community who share our vision.

October is National Bullying Prevention Month

Hey Alpha Family , this month, we’re taking a stand.
Bullying isn’t just “kids being kids.” It’s serious , and it hurts. Whether it happens in person, online, or behind someone’s back, it’s never okay.

At Alpha Connection Youth & Family Services, we believe every young person deserves to feel safe, supported, and respected.
So this October, let’s make kindness louder than hate.

Here are 5 Ways YOU Can Help Stop Bullying:
1. Speak Up: If you see it , say something. Your voice can change the moment.
2. Show Support: Stand with the person being bullied. Even one friend can make a huge difference.
3. Think Before You Post: Online words hit just as hard as real ones , use social media to lift people up.
4. Be Kind, Always: You never know what someone’s going through. A small act of kindness goes a long way.
5. Be the Example: When you lead with respect, others will follow.

This month and every month, let’s be the generation that chooses empathy over ego and courage over silence.

Through the Eyes of a Child: Remembering Patriot Day

September 11th, now known as Patriot Day, is a time of national reflection and remembrance. For many adults, it recalls images of bravery, sacrifice, and a moment in history that forever changed our country. But for children, especially those in care, facing uncertainty in their own lives, the events of 9/11 carried a different kind of weight.

In the days and months that followed, children across America experienced heightened fear, confusion, and a new awareness of the world’s fragility. At Alpha Connection Youth & Family Services, we recognize how moments like these can shape a young person’s sense of safety and belonging.

Yet from tragedy, children also witnessed something profound: unity. They saw neighbors checking on neighbors, communities lining up to give blood, and first responders running toward danger instead of away from it. These acts of courage planted seeds of resilience and hope in young minds.

Today, as we honor the lives lost and the heroes who rose to meet that day, we also remember the impact on children, those who lived through it and those who continue to learn about it. At Alpha Connection, we are committed to helping our youth find strength in stories of perseverance, compassion, and service to others.

May this Patriot Day remind us all that even in the face of unimaginable loss, hope and unity remain powerful guides for the next generation.
