Tick season is here -- and so are the risks!

Here are the facts:
• Tickborne illnesses in Outagamie County are historically highest from June through August
• Tickborne illnesses have been rising in Wisconsin in recent years, including in Outagamie County
• Outagamie County had more cases of Lyme disease this May (2026) than last May
• Lyme disease is spread through blacklegged tick bites
• The best way to prevent Lyme disease is to prevent tick bites in the first place
• It’s good practice to check for ticks after being outside, especially in grassy or wooded areas
• If you find a tick, remove it immediately
• See your medical provider if you experience rash or fever within several weeks of removing a tick

Prevention is the best protection! You can get FREE tick kits from Outagamie County Public Health *while supplies last. You can pick one up from our lobby on the third floor of the government center building or our . There will also be some at the Grand Chute Fire Department Station #2 Public Health Vending Machine.

Baby Formula Recall Alert!

Stop using any Nara Organics Powdered Infant Formula products immediately.

The company is voluntarily recalling all lots of the product currently on the market due to a potential risk of Clostridium botulinum contamination.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) contacted the company to inform it of 3 cases of infant botulism in infants who the CDC reported consumed Nara formula. No deaths have been reported.

Botulism is a rare but serious illness. It is caused by a toxin that attacks the body's nerves and causes difficulty breathing, muscle paralysis, and even death.

Symptoms of Infant Botulism
🚨Initially, the baby will develop constipation, poor feeding, loss of head control, and difficulty swallowing.
🚨It can progress to difficulty breathing and respiratory arrest.
Botulism can be fatal.

Seek immediate medical attention if your child has consumed Nara Organic Powdered Infant Formula and is experiencing signs and symptoms of botulism.

Nara Organics Powdered Infant Formula was distributed nationally across Target retail stores, Target.com, and Nara.com between July 2025 and June 2026. Nara Infant Formula is not distributed outside of the USA.
