Yesterday I had the chance to go behind the scenes at Appleton International Airport as part of my role on the Outagamie County Board. I came away even more impressed with what our local airport is doing for this community.
There are so many cool things, and one program that really stuck with me is Wings for Autism. ATW is one of the few airports in the country with a program specifically built for travelers with autism and other developmental disabilities.
Families come to the airport for a full "rehearsal" of air travel, without ever actually flying anywhere. They check in, get boarding passes, go through TSA security, and board a real plane… giving kids and their families a low-stress way to practice the whole process.
I’m so proud of what we have right here in Outagamie County, and grateful to the Appleton Airport (ATW) team for the tour and for the work they're doing to make travel accessible for every family.

Do you use Outagamie County parks or trails? Now's your chance to help shape their future.

Outagamie County is putting together its 2027–2031 Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan -https://www.outagamie.gov/files/assets/county/v/1/dls/documents/planning-and-community-development/01-orp-061726-rgb.pdf that drives decisions about trails, open spaces, park improvements, and new features across our county.

Take a look at the draft plan and share what matters to you by participating in the Community Survey here: https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/2ab259d34a0e428c937731da7d882448 . The public comment period is open through July 10th. Often these comment periods are easy to miss, and community voices genuinely make a difference in what gets prioritized.

Our parks belong to all of us, so let's make sure the people who use them have a say in their future. Feel free to share this post with a neighbor who might want to weigh in!

Yesterday I completed the final session of the Wisconsin County Officials Workshop.

There is a lot to learn as a new County Supervisor, and I’m grateful for opportunities like this to better understand county government, budgeting, public records, ethics, and the many responsibilities that come with the role.

One takeaway that stuck with me: county budgets aren’t just numbers. They reflect community priorities and have a direct impact on the services residents receive every day.

This morning I had the opportunity to join a local government panel for Appleton West High School’s 9th grade civics students alongside representatives from town, city, and school government.

We discussed public service, the role local government plays in everyday life, and how our different branches work together to serve the community. The students asked thoughtful questions and were engaged throughout the discussion.

Thank you to Appleton West and their great faculty for the invitation and for creating opportunities like this to help students better understand local government and civic engagement.

I’ve been taking some time to get oriented in my new role, and one thing I came across this week felt worth sharing.
April is National County Government Month — something I’ll admit I hadn’t paid much attention to before.
What I’m starting to realize is just how much of our day-to-day lives are touched by county government — from roads and public safety to human services, parks, and more.
As I get up to speed, I’ll share things like this along the way — both what I’m learning and what’s happening at the county level that may impact our district.

We did it! Thank you to everyone who supported me along the way- especially the friends, old and new, who gave time, made calls, knocked on doors, and showed up in so many ways!
I’m thankful for the chance to get to know so many people in our community…. I’m ready to listen, keep learning and do my best to represent District 3 well.
