Young women ages 14-18 can compete in the Miss Wausau Area's Teen Competition, and women aged 18-27 are eligible to compete in the Miss Wausau Area Competition. The phase

s of competition are evening gown, interview, fitness, talent, and onstage question. The women who are chosen to represent Miss Wausau Area and Miss Wausau Area's Teen goes on to compete at the annual Miss Wisconsin and Miss Wisconsin's Teen Competition in New Berlin. The titleholders serve the Wausau Area community by promoting their personal platform and participating in community events. All young women competing in the Miss Wausau Area competition earn scholarships towards their education through the competition, and is provided with essential professional development skills such as confidence, public speaking, interviewing, and networking.
