Earlier this month, some of our cadets had the opportunity to compete in the 2026 Milwaukee Police Department Cadet Competition. The scenarios included active threat, crisis intervention, suspicious person, physical agility, MILO, and a traffic stop. Out of those scenarios, Team 1 placed 1st in both active threat and crisis intervention!

We are proud of our cadets for their hard work and can't wait to see how next competition will go!

This Police Week, we want to take a moment and highlight some of our cadets who serve in law enforcement. Those members are:

Cadet Lieutenant Linskens - CSO for the Grand Chute Police Department
Cadet Sergeant Wartick - CSO for the Appleton Police Department
Cadet Sergeant Po***ck - CSO for the Grand Chute Police Department
Cadet FTO Rademaker - Auxiliary Officer for the Menasha Police Department

Community service officers are non-sworn patrol staff responsible for non-emergency calls, such as hazards, motorist assists, or animal complaints. Auxiliary officers assist sworn officers with investigations, evidence processing, and scene security. These positions keep officers available to take higher priority calls.

We thank them all for their hard work and service to their communities and their dedication to our unit!

In honor of National Police Week, we would like to take a moment and recognize the amazing officers who step up as mentors for our program.

Officers Lerum and Lawrence both serve as School Resource Officers as well as mentors for our cadets. Since 2021, they have dedicated a significant portion of their time to teach our cadets the fundamentals of law enforcement. We thank them for their continued dedication not only to our program, but to the community they serve. Thank you both for keeping us safe!

In April, our cadets had the opportunity to participate in a joint training with the Brown County and Ashwaubenon Cadet programs. The training included a variety of practical scenarios, such as responding to a suspicious person, conducting a welfare check, performing a traffic stop, and handling an active threat situation. Cadets were also grouped with new peers to encourage collaboration and broaden their experience. This was a valuable and engaging learning opportunity, and our cadets look forward to participating in future joint trainings.
