Outagamie County Health and Human Services Mentoring Program

Outagamie County Health and Human Services Mentoring Program Youth mentoring agency. Here at the Outagamie County Mentoring Program, we work with the youth in the community who need us the most.

We match these kids with adults mentors who expose them to new, healthy, and positive experiences that enhance self esteem and improve social skills. Mentor matches spend 4 to 8 hours per month together developing positive and trusting relationships the youth can rely on. Youth can be matched with an individual mentor or a mentor couple. A successful match is life changing for both the mentor(s) a

nd the mentee! We find that many mentors enjoy getting to be a kid again with their youth! There are many benefits to mentoring with our program, and we’d love to talk to you about it! Please email us at [email protected] to learn more!

Inspirational Quote of the Day: "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning to dance in the rain." - Vivian Greene

I think we all have something to learn from this quote! (thank you, )

Teaching kids to embrace every kind of weather is one of the greatest gifts we can give them. Learning the fun of a rainy day helps kids grow resilient, adaptable, and open to finding beauty anywhere!

Who would want to stay indoors when there are puddles to jump in, mud to squelch, and wind to blow our bad moods away?

How are the kids in your life feeling about heading back to school? Start the conversation, and let them know you are there to support them.

It's Back to School time for most students. If your child is experiencing anxiety, here are some helpful tips:
*Start routines early: Shift bedtime and wake-up times back to school hours a week or two before classes start.
*Visit the school: Walk the halls or play on the playground ahead of time so the building feels safe and familiar.
*Talk and listen: Ask what your child fears most and say it is normal to feel nervous.
*Stay calm yourself: Kids pick up on adult stress, so try to keep drop-offs short and positive.
