Town of Buchanan Fire and Rescue

Town of Buchanan Fire and Rescue The Town of Buchanan is a unique blend of rural and urban development. The Town has approximately 6,900 residents and a land area of 16.9 sq. miles.

Buchanan Fire & Rescue is a volunteer department currently served by 32 volunteer firefighters. We respond to all requests for medical assistance, jaws-of-life, vehicle and structure fires, gas leaks, accident clean up and many other fire service calls. In addition, we responded to several requests from our neighboring communities for "mutual aid" which is assistance that we provide for each other when the need for additional personnel or fire apparatus is needed.

The weather is getting warm, kids are getting out of school and bikes are rolling.
Did you know that over the last five years, there has been an average of almost 700 bicycle/vehicle crashes a year in Wisconsin!?! Our goal is reduce that number! We’ve already had a few bicycle incidents in our community this summer already. Here are some facts, tips and information on bicycle safety.
Feel free to head to National Highway Safety Administration for more information on safety- for pedestrians, drivers, bicyclists and more!

And guess what?!? Your local first responders at Buchanan Fire & Rescue and Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office - Buchanan Deputies will be stopping and handing out free ice cream tickets to kids we see following safe biking habits this summer! (Thank you A&W Restaurant Appleton for donating the ice cream passes!!)

Today, we honor the men and women that gave their lives serving our country. We think of these servicemen and women and their families that sacrificed over the years.
Did you know Memorial Day started in the late 1860’s and was known as Decoration Day- used as a springtime tribute to decorate the graves of fallen Civil War soldiers.
So…. Thank you to the those that have served and given their lives.
