Monday, February 9th, Classical Student Council will kick off the Hearts for the Homeless Campaign! Students will be able to purchase paper hearts during lunch time for $1.00 each. All proceeds will be donated to the Help for the Homeless Hygiene Drive. For the past few years, we have raised more than $1,200. Let's keep that streak going! Congratulations to two Classical School 8th graders who won first and second place in the Patriot's Pen Essay Contest!
The essay contest is run by the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S.) and is open to 6th-8th grade students. The competition requires a 300-400 word essay; this year's essay theme was "How are you showing Patriotism and Support for Our Country?"
The first place essay winner will go on to the state level and will learn the results this Saturday. Good luck!

It’s almost here—the annual AASD Charter School Fair is this Saturday! 🎉 Charter schools foster innovation, creativity, and choice, offering families meaningful educational options tailored to students’ interests and needs. The fair is a great opportunity to explore AASD charter schools, ask questions, and learn what makes each school unique.

The application window for the 2026–2027 school year is now open. In AASD, charter school acceptance is determined through a lottery application held from December through February.

Welcome to Classical School

The 2020-2021 school year marks our twenty-second year of operation. Classical School is an instrumentality of the Appleton Area School District and is an official Core Knowledge® school.

When students graduate from Classical School their minds hold vast amounts of knowledge–scientific, historical, grammatical, linguistic, mathematic, artistic, and more. With a strong, broad foundation, our students see connections in their world that pique their curiosity and make them enthusiastic to know more; as they mature their knowledge will help them reason, analyze, think critically, question themselves and others, and spend the rest of their lives seeking knowledge (and finding joy in that pursuit). We demand much of our students, and in turn their hard work rewards them with remarkable character and powerful intellect, for a Classical School education turns students into scholars and shapes today’s young children into tomorrow’s smart, savvy, and compassionate citizens.
