Outagamie County Sheriff’s K9 Unit

The Outagamie County K-9 Unit is currently looking for new locations within the county to conduct training exercises. If you own, manage, or are aware of any properties that may be available, we’d love to connect with you.

We’re interested in a variety of environments, including:
• Vacant homes or buildings
• Warehouses or large indoor spaces
• Commercial properties
• Construction sites
• Other unique or unused areas

Training sessions are professionally supervised by law enforcement at all times, and we are happy to coordinate around your schedule or any specific restrictions you may have.

Community support plays a huge role in helping us keep our K-9 teams sharp and ready to serve.

“Update on our boy: MRI was done this morning, confirmed bulging disc causing compression. Headed into surgery now. May need another procedure down the road to address another area of concern seen on MRI.

Thank you everyone for reaching out to us and keeping DJ in your thoughts and prayers! Back surgery is a serious and risky procedure, but he is in the best care at UW! 💙”

We wanted to share a quick update about one of our K9s, DJ.

DJ was seen today at UW–Madison Vet for a back issue. The vets believe he has a bulging disc and he’s heading back early tomorrow morning for an MRI. If it confirms what they’re seeing, DJ will go straight into surgery. The doctors are hopeful and feel confident he can make a full recovery with time.

Tomorrow is a big day, and we’d really appreciate all the good thoughts and well wishes for DJ and his handler!

Thanks to your continued support, we are in a good place financially and prepared for moments like this. However, If anyone feels called to help with DJ’s care and recovery, donations can be made to the Community Foundation or to Bark & Blue (designated for OUSO K9).

We appreciate all the continued support and will be sure to keep you updated on this sweet boy! 🤎🐾

It is with very heavy hearts that we share the unexpected passing of Retired K9 Tayco. After recently retiring and beginning his next chapter, Tayco crossed the Rainbow Bridge due to a sudden medical issue.

Tayco was more than a K9 partner, he was family and very very loved. He served our community with loyalty, courage, and heart, and then went on to enjoy the retirement he so deeply deserved. His pawprints are forever left on our agency and on everyone who had the honor of knowing him.

Please keep Tayco’s handler and his human family close in your thoughts as they navigate this heartbreaking loss. We are sending them all the love, strength, and support during this incredibly difficult time.

Rest easy, Tayco. Thank you for everything.

Thanksgiving is over, bellies are full, and DJ & Force are enjoying some well-deserved downtime …curled up at home, getting spoiled by their handlers and families before the next shift. 🐾🎄

What an amazing day!

We are so grateful for the incredible turnout today — thank you to everyone who joined us! 📸 Photos will be shared later this week, but in the meantime, please give a big round of applause 👏 to our top two winners of the coloring contest, Isabella and Brecklin! 🎨✨

A huge thank you goes out to Mama D’s and Family Insurance Center for hosting us, Puckered Up Lemon Shake Ups, Wild Grounds Coffee, Beth Schultz for her awesome face painting, Thomasina Faulkes for capturing the day behind the camera, the Freedom Fire Department, and of course our amazing K9’s and their handlers! 🐾

We’re also so thankful for everyone who made it out today and for all the generous donations collected both today and leading up to the event at Mama D’s. 💛

What an incredible community we live in — and what a privilege it is for our furry friends to help protect it! 🐾
