The Appleton Fire Department is searching for an Administrative and Financial Services Manager
to join the team. This is a highly technical and professional position that provides management and leadership in the development and administration of the Appleton Fire Department’s annual operating and capital budgets. Responsible for system administration duties for fire-specific software programs. Monitors all aspects of purchasing. Responsible for grant administration for local, state, and federal grant awards. The work involves supervising, training, and evaluating administrative staff. The incumbent works under the general direction of the Fire Chief while applying independent judgement, discretion, and initiative.

Qualifications
This position requires an Associate degree in Business Administration, Management Information, Project Management, Finance, Organizational Administration, Accounting, or related field, five years professional, responsible experience in accounting and budgeting or a combination of applicable experience and training.

Salary
The starting salary for this position is $29.12 hourly with the ability to earn up to $40.77 hourly. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include reviewing biweekly payroll, auditing overtime and leave balances, reconciling payroll and HR data, processing payroll changes, and preparing year-end payroll activities.

Additional duties include processing accounts payable, maintaining confidential payroll and personnel records, preparing reports, supporting contract monitoring, recording official minutes for the Fox Cities Transit Commission, and providing high-level administrative support to management. Occasional customer service coverage and backup support to the Enterprise Account Manager may be required.
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Enterprise Account Manager and is essential to maintaining operational continuity and fiscal accountability at Valley Transit.

The City of Appleton is seeking a full-time Electrical Inspector. This position is responsible for performing inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings for compliance with City and State codes. Work involves routine field inspection, investigation of complaints, issuing permits, reviewing proposals and plans, and dealing with the public. Work is performed under the general direction of the Inspections Supervisor.

Qualifications
This position requires considerable experience in building construction with technical training in reading blueprints and other related materials. It requires certification as UDC Electrical Inspector and/or Commercial Electrical Inspector with the Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) and in accordance with DSPS 305.62 and 305.63(1)(a)(2).

Salary
A competitive salary will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
