The children in a foster family are impacted, both positively and in challenging ways, when the family welcomes a foster youth. Research shows that children of a foster family see many benefits, including a broader worldview, learning to share at an earlier age, as well as navigating social-emotional skill building in a meaningful way. Children of Foster Carers’ Week starts on Monday! ⭐

From 12–18 October, we’ll be celebrating the contribution of birth and adopted children in fostering families. Follow us on social media throughout the week as we share their experiences of growing up fostering, recognise the important role they play and explore some of the unique challenges they may face.

We’ve created a set of resources to help you celebrate and support the children of foster carers in your lives, including:

• Social media graphics
• A certificate for children of foster carers
• An information poster sharing where children of foster carers can get support
