❤️💚🖤 Recently, Club youth came together to celebrate and learn the powerful history behind Juneteenth. This day marks the official end of slavery in the United States and a continued call for freedom, justice, and equality.

Through hands-on activities, kids explored the significance of Juneteenth by creating bracelets, coloring meaningful images, testing their knowledge with Juneteenth fact-or-fiction trivia, and learning why this day continues to matter today.

Moments like these go beyond fun—they spark important conversations, build understanding, and help our youth connect the past to the present as they grow into informed, compassionate leaders.

We’re proud to create spaces where learning, reflection, and celebration come together. 💛

✨ Surrounded by friends, family, and more than 1,000 Club youth from across Wisconsin, our local and state Youth of the Year winner, Evangelina, had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to throw the first pitch at the Brewers game at American Family Field this week! ⚾

Next stop: Chicago, where Evangelina will represent Wisconsin at the Youth of the Year regional competition. We’re cheering you on every step of the way! 💙

A huge shoutout to the Milwaukee Brewers and for hitting a grand slam—providing 1,000 tickets, T-shirts, and hot dogs to Boys & Girls Club youth across the state, including more than 50 from the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley.
Thank you for thinking and creating unforgettable moments. For many of these Club kids, it was their very first MLB game. 🙌

It’s not every day your local 7 Brew Coffee rolls up with a whole stash of caffeinated goodness for your team ☕🚗💨—so yes, we were pretty hyped to receive this incredibly generous (and delicious!) surprise!

Big feelings often come with big changes — and youth do not have to navigate them alone. 🌱

This summer, Connections Grief Center will again be offering Sprouts & Changes groups at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley in Appleton, Menasha, and Neenah.

Sprouts & Changes helps youth build coping skills, resilience, emotional awareness, and peer connection while navigating experiences of grief, loss, and life transitions. Groups include engaging activities, supportive discussion, and opportunities for youth to recognize that others “get it,” too.

Loss and change can take many forms, including:
🌿 Death of a loved one
🌿 Divorce or family changes
🌿 Moving or changing schools
🌿 Foster care or separation from family
🌿 Other significant life transitions

Groups are available for 3rd–6th grade youth attending Club summer programming.

Thanks to support from the USDA and the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, this program helps ensure no child goes without the nourishment they need to learn, grow, and thrive 🌱

🚧 Due to ongoing construction on S. Badger Ave, we wanted to share some new detour changes for those visiting the Boys & Girls Club of Appleton.🚧

Here’s what you'll need to know:

🔹Accessing the Club: Visitors can navigate to the Club’s front short-term parking lot for youth drop-off and pick-up in two ways:
1. Turning south off College Ave onto Locust St., then right into Kimball Alley next to the Club, then turn left by JJ’s Laundromat to navigate to S. Pierce Ave, before pulling into the Club lot.
2. Turning off College Avenue by going around the “No Thru Traffic” barricade to S. Badger Ave. and taking a left on S. Pierce Ave, before pulling into the Club lot.

🔹Safety Reminder: To keep everyone safe, visitors should NOT enter the Club pick-up and drop-off area from Lawrence Street. Instead, use one of the routes listed above. We’ve seen cars entering from Lawrence Street the wrong way, which creates a safety risk. We’ve added measures to prevent this, but we need your help to keep all youth and families safe when arriving and leaving the Club.

🔹Exiting the Area: All visitors must exit drop-off & pick-up heading east on Lawrence St. or Locust & W 8th St. due to the road closure on Badger.

Every once in a while, a moment comes along that truly stands out ✨

Earlier this week, Club youth and their families filled the Boys & Girls Club of Neenah gym, buzzing with excitement as they waited for a special surprise 🤩🏈 When Green Bay Packers Jordan Love and Micah Parsons walked through the doors, the room erupted—reaching Lambeau Field-worthy 124 decibels of excitement!🔊💚💛

Kids and families had the chance to toss footballs, ask questions, and connect one-on-one with the players 🏈🙌 The smiles, laughter, and pure joy in that space made the night truly unforgettable 😊💫
