Twelve hands. One circle. One class family. 🧡

Our first graders started the year by reading Our Class Is a Family together, then wore bracelets to remind them what that promise means: in this room, everyone belongs. Everyone is looked out for. Everyone matters.

Day one is for names and routines and finding your cubby. It's also for this — deciding what kind of class you're going to be, together.

WLUK-TV FOX 11 is at Foster this morning! 📺 Our principal, Mrs. Van Fossen was interviewed bright and early at 5:45, and three of our teachers are still to come — keep Good Day Wisconsin on and you'll get a look at what makes this school special, straight from the people who build it every day. 💙

So many excited Falcons. One very sweet bulletin board. 💙

This is some of the crew that's been here all week — moving furniture, labeling cubbies, setting up classroom libraries, and talking (a lot) about the kids who will fill these hallways on Tuesday.

Thank you to every family who came out last night for A Sweet Start. Meeting your kids, watching them find their classroom, hearing what they're most excited about — that's the part that makes all the prep worth it.

Falcons, we are ready for you. Leadership is sweet, and it begins September 1. 🦅🍩

Our staff spent this morning covering the Foster sidewalk with the name of every student walking through our doors next week — because at Foster, being known is where leadership starts.

Doors open at 4:00 for our Sweet Start Open House. Meet your teacher, drop off supplies, and follow Freddy's Sweet Start Trail through the art room, library, and gym — there's a little something sweet waiting at the end.

Drop in anytime between 4:00 and 6:00. Can't make it? Just send supplies along on the first day.

Who says learning can't feel like an adventure? ⛺

This summer, our rising first graders in the "1st Grade Here I Come" class turned reading, building, and games into a camping trip — cozied up in tents right inside the classroom. 🦅 These little Falcons are getting comfortable, making friends, and building confidence before the school year even begins. That's what belonging looks like at Foster: every child known, welcomed, and excited to learn. We can't wait to see all they'll accomplish this year! 💙📚

Talk about courage. 🎤

Earlier this summer, Foster's own Leyah Whitfield stepped up to a microphone in front of a crowd of golfers and sang the National Anthem to open the Bergstrom Lexus Champions for Charity Golf Outing — the Boys & Girls Club's biggest fundraiser of the year. 🦅

Standing tall and singing your heart out in front of a crowd? That's leadership in its purest form. We are so proud of you, Leyah! This year's outing raised more than $500,000 to support the young people the Club serves, and we're honored a Falcon helped kick it off. 💙
