Fox Valley Veterans Council, Inc. 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization. We assist, connect, and honor local veterans. Assistance is paid directly to creditors.

The FVVC is composed of area veteran service organizations and associate members who provide emergency funding for basic needs to area veterans, those still serving, their dependents, and survivors. The FVVC also provides a forum within the Fox Valley to disseminate information among veteran organizations and supports activities for the common good of all veterans. Additionally, the FVVC supports

the Outagamie County Veterans Memorial and presents the Outagamie County annual Memorial and Veterans Day ceremonies. A primary goal of the FVVC is to sustain a Veterans Emergency Fund that serves veterans who are in need of emergency financial assistance in Outagamie, Winnebago, and nearby areas of Calumet, Brown, & Waupaca counties. Applicants must provide a copy of a DD Form 214 showing honorable service and copies of bills for consideration. The FVVC works with the County Veterans Service Offices to determine eligibility of applicants for financial assistance.

“TSA is working with the Department of Veterans Affairs on the Veterans Expedited TSA Screening (VETS) Safe Travel Act which provides free TSA PreCheck® enrollment to veterans with qualifying service-connected disabilities. TSA PreCheck allows travelers to experience smarter, faster airport security in dedicated lanes when they travel.

Eligibility for free TSA PreCheck enrollment under the VETS Safe Travel Act is limited to veterans enrolled in VA healthcare who have a service‑connected disability of permanent blindness or require the use of a VA‑issued wheelchair or prosthetic limb” (Transportation Security Administration - TSA, 2026).

“On June 19, 1865, after arriving in Galveston, Union Major General Gordon Granger announced the war was over and began enforcing the end of slavery. Granger’s General Orders No. 3 read: “The people of Texas are informed that, in accordance with a proclamation from the Executive of the United States, all slaves are free.”

Leaders in Texas had been aware of the Emancipation Proclamation but reluctant to enforce it. And while the news of slavery’s end had spread across the country, it’s likely that some enslaved people, especially in remote Texas, weren’t aware of it—or what it meant for them” (HISTORY, 2026).

🇺🇸 Welcome Home.

“MARINETTE (WLUK) -- It's been nearly three quarters of a century since a Northeast Wisconsin servicemember died in a plane crash, but his family finally received closure Wednesday.

Rain didn't stop the Marinette community and family members of Daniel "Dinny" McMann from showing up to honor the fallen airman at a funeral 73 years in the making. McMann received full military honors as he was laid to rest more than seven decades after he was killed” (WLUK-TV FOX 11, Langfellow, June 17, 2026). 

It's been 73 years since a Northeast Wisconsin servicemember died in a plane crash, but his family finally received closure Wednesday.
