Wunee keesuq wâmee (Good day everyone)! The Education Department has been utilizing summer to undergo a strategic restructuring and will have more to share at the August General Membership Meeting. Keep an eye out for information soon about upcoming listening sessions for the community to engage with this work.

In the meantime, we wanted to share an important event this week for Wampanoag citizens and family members, led by the Aquinnah Land Initiative (ALI). Founded in 2023 and led by an all-female Wampanoag board, ALI’s mission is to restore the sacred relationship between the Wampanoag people and our ancestral lands in Aquinnah and throughout Martha’s Vineyard. Join ALI on Wednesday, August 12th, from 5:00 to 6:00 PM to be apart of the visioning and listening process! To learn more, check out the flier below or head to ALI’s website (posted in the comments).
