Please join us in lifting our Chief of Police, Shawn “Tiny” McRae, in prayer. Chief McRae has recently been diagnosed with Stage III colorectal cancer and is beginning a difficult journey ahead.

We know the power of faith, prayer, and a supportive community, and we are asking everyone to keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers during this time.

Chief, we stand behind you 100%. Your strength, dedication, and service to our community have never gone unnoticed. We are praying for healing, comfort, and a full recovery

What an incredible day at the 77th Annual Watermelon Parade! 🍉🇺🇸

Events like this are a reminder of what makes small-town America so special. Our local communities are the backbone of this country, and it is the hard work, dedication, and spirit of people like those here today that help keep our state and nation moving forward.

As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States, we are especially proud to be part of an industry that truly helps “Grow America.” Agriculture is more than an occupation—it is a way of life, a legacy passed from generation to generation, and the foundation of communities just like ours.

A special thank you to Tyler Harper, our wonderful Georgia Commissioner of Agriculture, as well as our beautiful National Watermelon Queen and Georgia Watermelon Ambassador. Your passion, dedication, and tireless efforts to promote and preserve agriculture do not go unnoticed. We are grateful for all that you do to support farmers, rural communities, and the future of agriculture.

Most importantly, thank you to every volunteer, organizer, participant, sponsor, and community member who showed up and gave their all to make this such a tremendous success. Your commitment, enthusiasm, and hometown pride are what make events like this possible.

We are proud of our community, proud of our agricultural heritage, and proud to celebrate the people who make both so special.

City Hall will be closed Friday June 19,2026 in observance of the federal holiday Juneteenth and will resume normal business hours on Monday June 22,2026.

On Saturday pack up the whole family and come see Arabi’s first ever parade float in the watermelon parade. See you there!!!

We are sorry for the inconvenience- we are having to cut off the water at the well to fix a leak. We hope it won’t last very long. After it’s cut back on, please run your water for a few minutes to get the pressure off the line.
