Aransas Pass Fire Department To provide the highest level of professional service to the public by protecting lives, and property, while providing life safety community education.

The Aransas Pass Fire Department is a Fire and Rescue Department that serves the City of Aransas Pass and surrounding areas. The staff includes 14 employees:

1 Fire Chief,
1 Assistant Chief,
3 Fire Captains, and
9 Firefighters. The Captains and firefighters work three shifts of 48 hours on duty and then 96 hours off. Our guiding principle is that “Fire prevention in our daily lives will make a di

fference in our community.”

The Aransas Pass Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1929 and became a paid department in 1956. Comments posted to this page will be monitored. Congratulations to our Administrative Assistant Lyndsey Truitt on completing the Emergency Medical Technician course! Lyndsey said she wanted to be an EMT in case the fire crews were all on a call and someone came to the fire station for medical assistance, she could help in some way in addition to calling for an ambulance.

Initiative is for the courageous. Even your Fire Department Administrative Assistant commits to public service. Well done Lyndsey!!

My vision is to continunously make the Aransas Pass Fire Department better. To that means, we are sending as many of our staff as we can, in rotations, to obtain their Advanced EMT Certification and someday, to maybe earn their Paramedic Certifications. Currently, our staff maintain their EMS certifications at the EMT-Basic level and are only able to do very minor interventions in an emergency.

Obtaining Advanced EMT certification is not intended to replace any ambulance service that the city contracts to perform 911 response in the city. It is not my goal to have our own city ambulance service. But it will enhance the fire department's service capabilities and patient care on critical calls that we frequently respond to.

I'd like to give a special thank you to the Fire Department for creating a learning environment that accomodates the firefighter schedule. Congrats to Noah Dean, Jack McCarty, and Gilbert Chapa on doing well in class so far!
