On May 21, 2026, Officer A. Polk conducted a traffic stop after observing Chase Chickering operating a vehicle without a valid driver license. Before the vehicle came to a complete stop, Chickering was seen making several suspicious movements toward the center console area.

During a search of the vehicle, Officer Polk located a plastic bag containing approximately 55.2 grams of methamphetamine. Chickering was taken into custody and charged with Driving Without a Valid Driver License and Trafficking in Methamphetamine.

City Marshal Jones commends Officer Polk for his proactive police work, attentiveness, and quick action during the traffic stop, which led to a large amount of dangerous narcotics being removed from the streets of our community. The Arcadia Police Department remains committed to keeping illegal drugs out of our neighborhoods and ensuring the safety of our citizens.

The Arcadia Police Department is joining agencies across Florida in the 2026 “Click It or Ticket” campaign running from May 18 through May 31.

During this campaign, members of the Arcadia Police Department will be on high alert ensuring drivers and passengers are properly wearing their seatbelts. Seatbelts save lives and remain one of the simplest ways to protect yourself and others while traveling on our roadways.

Drivers and passengers found not wearing their seatbelts may be subject to enforcement action. Buckle up every trip, every time. Stay safe, Arcadia!

Today, the members of the Arcadia Police Department had the honor of celebrating two very special young ladies during a graduation luncheon — Genesis Clifton, a dedicated member of our Police Explorer Program, and Meagan Joens, the daughter of Captain Joens.

Both of these young women are a part of our APD family, and we could not be more proud of their accomplishment. In today’s world, young people face many challenges and distractions as they grow and prepare for their futures. That is what makes this achievement even more meaningful. Genesis and Meagan remained focused, determined, and committed to reaching the important milestone of graduating high school, and that deserves to be celebrated.

We wish both of them nothing but success and happiness in their future endeavors. No matter where life takes them, they will always be a part of the Arcadia Police Department family, and we will continue cheering them on every step of the way. Congratulations, Genesis and Meagan — your APD family is proud of you both!

During National Police Week, I want to take a moment to recognize the dedicated men and women of the Arcadia Police Department.

Every day, you show up with professionalism, courage, and a commitment to protecting our community. Whether it’s answering calls for service, building relationships with our residents, or standing ready in moments of crisis, your hard work does not go unnoticed. You are the backbone of public safety in Arcadia, and I am proud to serve alongside each of you.

This week also serves as a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made by law enforcement officers across our nation. We honor and remember the fallen heroes who gave their lives in the line of duty, protecting their communities and upholding the oath we all share. Their legacy lives on through the work we continue to do every day.

To the members of our department—thank you for your service, your resilience, and your steadfast dedication to keeping our community safe.

Stay safe, take care of one another, and continue to lead with integrity.

— Marshal Quinn Jones

Marshal Jones, Sgt. Rios, and Arcadia Police Explorer Genesis had a great time attending the Youth Extravaganza Kickball Tournament and jumping in for a couple rounds with the kids! ⚽️

We are truly thankful for the invitation and the opportunity to be part of such a positive, family-centered event. Moments like these are what community is all about—bringing people together, building relationships, and creating lasting memories for our youth.

A big thank you to Building A Village, Inc. for hosting such a fun and impactful event. We also want to thank La Michoacana Paleteria for generously donating ice cream to all the kids who participated in today’s kickball games.
