We would like to take a moment to recognize and sincerely thank the businesses, citizens, community organizations, and the City of Arcadia for the incredible support we have received while rebuilding our department. The encouragement, trust, and partnership from our community have meant a great deal to us, and we are grateful for the opportunity to serve you.

With many new faces in the community, we thought this would be a great opportunity to reintroduce ourselves.

📸 Pictured from left to right:

Officer Mitch Zastrow grew up in Arcadia and brings a decade of law enforcement experience to the department which includes Patrol Deputy and Sergeant. A graduate of Winona State University, Mitch is proud to serve his hometown community. He will also be taking on the role of our next K9 Handler.

Sergeant Matt Pedersen began his law enforcement career in 2008 after graduating from UW–Platteville. Matt brings a wealth of experience to the department, including serving as Patrol Deputy and Assistant Chief in Independence; he is a valued leader within our team.

Chief Nic Scholl has 18 years of law enforcement experience, and is a graduate of Western Technical. He has served as a Patrol Deputy, K9 Handler, Sergeant, Detective, and now as Chief. His commitment to public service and community policing continues to guide the department forward.

K9 Owen has been Chief Scholl’s partner since 2018. Owen is a German Shepherd from the Czech Republic who is trained in narcotics detection and tracking. Throughout his career, he has been involved in countless successful cases and remains an important member of our department.

Officer Lucas Allen attended Western Technical College for his law enforcement training. He began his career working in jail and dispatch operations before transitioning to patrol. Lucas has become a tremendous asset to our department through his dedication and diverse experience.

Officer Brian Kelly also graduated from Western Technical College. Brian started patrol academy but was called to the Army while in the Academy. He proudly served 17½ years in the United States Army before transitioning back into law enforcement. He now continues his commitment to public service by serving the citizens of Arcadia.

We are honored to serve this community and look forward to continuing to build strong relationships with the people we protect. If you see us out and about, please stop and say hello! As always, if you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Thank you, Arcadia, for your continued support.

🚨 Welcome to the 73rd Annual Arcadia Broiler Dairy Days! 🚨

The Arcadia Police Department wants to welcome all members of our incredible community and our neighbors from the surrounding areas to Memorial Day weekend festival fun! 🎡🍗

We are thrilled to celebrate this long-standing tradition with you all. As we head into a weekend packed with the Stipes Carnival, live music, the Grand Parade, and—of course—some legendary charcoal chicken, our top priority is keeping everyone safe.

With so many visitors heading into town, please keep these safety tips in mind:

Drive Mindfully: Expect increased pedestrian and vehicle traffic around Memorial Park, Main Street, and Arcadia High School.

Stay Focused: Eliminate distractions behind the wheel, pay extra attention to crosswalks, and watch out for little ones heading to the carnival.

Plan Ahead: If you are planning to enjoy Happy Hour or the live music at the Pavilion, please designate a sober driver or arrange a safe ride home.

Let's work together to make this a safe, memorable weekend for everyone! Check out the full event schedule below so you don't miss a thing. 👇

🚨⛳ Arcadia PD Golf Tournament reminder! Get those clubs ready for Saturday — the weather is supposed to be great!

To be fair... we haven’t gotten as much practice in as we would’ve liked, so bear with us. If you see a few golf balls headed onto neighboring streets or yards know we’re already investigating. 😆🏌️

Parents: Do your kids have cell phones or tablets with access to apps and the internet?

If so, consider attending an important presentation by Detective Huson at School District of Arcadia tomorrow evening. Law enforcement is seeing a growing number of cases involving online risks affecting children.

Detective Huson will discuss topics like online safety, sextortion, and practical steps you can take to help protect your kids. This is a valuable opportunity to stay informed and proactive about your child’s digital safety.
