Today we mourn with our brothers and sisters to the North. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Cicero Township Volunteer Fire Department (Tipton County).

It is with a very heavy heart that the Cicero Township Vol. Fire Dept. announces the passing of Deputy Chief Donnie Ross. After a long, hard-fought battle with illness, Donnie is now at rest. Funeral services and arrangements will be forthcoming. Please keep Deputy Chief Ross’s family in your thoughts and prayers during this time of great loss.

Deputy Chief Ross has been with the Cicero Township Vol. Fire Department, serving the citizens of Cicero Township as a firefighter since 1992. He has been an outstanding firefighter and driver operator and has done a fantastic job working with the citizens of this county, several organizations, assisting other law enforcement agencies, and educating the public through our fire prevention program. We will greatly miss Deputy Chief Ross.

Everyone knows that when they are in trouble, they can call the fire department and we'll be there to help. Well, this week we took a different kind of call. Angel's Attic called us, telling us that their pantry shelves are almost bare and they need our help. We all know that this year has been tough, especially on those living pay check to pay check, and with Thanksgiving right around the corner, difficult decisions have to be made. That's where all of us come in! Jackson firefighters put together food donation boxes and placed them at the Cicero Market, Dollar General (Atlanta), Dollar General (Cicero), and here at Jackson Township Fire Department. We are collecting food items from now until November 14th. We have also put a link to our Venmo account https://linktr.ee/jacksontownshipfd so you can donate money for food. (please put the word FOOD in the memo line)

Let's come together as a community and help everyone have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
