One of our beloved colleagues suffered an unimaginable loss this weekend. Please consider helping their family out during this incredibly difficult time.

On September 21, 2024 at 7:30am, Atticus Stevens was involved in a fatal traffic collision on his way to work. Atticus had just turned 18 years old at the beginning of the month. Atticus was gifted with a quick wit at a young age and could make anyone laugh.

Cal Poly Humboldt PD is hiring police officers! Academy graduates and lateral officers are encouraged to apply. A variety of big retention bonuses and relocation incentives apply! Being an officer at UPD is fantastic. It is all of the traditional police work plus the rewards of real community policing. UPD offers competitive pay, university fee waivers (six units/semester) for you, your spouse, and kids, no-cost medical, and lifetime medical benefits after vesting just to name a few. Retirement is CalPERS 2.7 @ 57 but keep in mind you do NOT lose your 3 @ 50 accruals that you have earned and you can still go at 50 if you desire (accruals while at UPD would just be calculated at 2.7%). If you, or someone you know is interested, apply at https://careers.humboldt.edu/hm/en-us/job/528379/police-officer. Call (707)826-5555 If you have questions, want to ride, or want to talk with current personnel.

Haven't been to an academy yet? Keep your eyes open for the cadet position coming soon. We'll pay the right people to complete the Redwoods Police Academy in June 2024!
