Thank you the City of Arcata for taking such good care of Arcata Library for so many years. This week they installed new blinds for our Children's area and eyelets outside to make it easy to hang banners, like this one for our Summer Reading Program, Plant a Seed, Read, happening NOW at all locations of Humboldt County Library!

Remember, we are closed today, June 19 in observation of Juneteenth. We will be open Saturday, June 20 from 10-5. Baby Bookworms at 10:15, Carl Meredith for a musical storytime Summer Reading Program kickoff at 11 a.m. and a Book Sale 11-4 with Friends of the Arcata Library!

A friendly reminder that all Humboldt County Library locations will be closed on Friday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth.
We'll reopen on Saturday, June 20. Wishing you a meaningful day of reflection and celebration.

So Many Books! Friends of the Arcata Library is hosting a BOOK SALE on Saturday from 11-4 and everyone is invited! Books for all ages and interests, and the sale will go towards locally purchased books from our friends at Northtown Books. :-)

ZIP Books Program Update...

Zip Books Program Update!

Our current Zip Books grant funding has been fully utilized. We are not accepting new Zip Books requests at this time.

The library has applied to continue participating in the California State Library's Zip Books program for Fiscal Year 2026–2027 and is awaiting notification of funding. We will provide updates as they become available.
